Dear Member,
Thank you to everyone for your cards, gifts, good wishes, and for helping to make my Captain’s day a most memorable and enjoyable occasion. Congratulations to all the prize winners, particularly to Ken Armstrong who picked up the Captain’s prize for 2017. Well done to all. My chosen charity for the day was 'Abbie's Army' a children's DIPG brain tumor research charity set up in 2012. A presentation of €700 was made to Chris Marriott. Chris’ son Finlay died from Brain Cancer in 2014. A huge thank you to the staff at the Clubhouse who came up with the idea of supporting this charity. Tickets were sold on the day to boost the donations. A draw took place at the presentation for a meal for two at the Clubhouse and was won by our Greenkeeper, Paul McGinley. This weekend is the Caravanners Classic. Festivities kick off on Friday evening with a Trivia Quiz hosted by our very own Brian Gilfedder. Thank you to Brian for once again agreeing to host the quiz. Proceeds will go to the Donegal Hospice. Presentation of prizes for the Club Mixed Foursomes takes place at 7.30pm. Quiz starts at 8pm. A raffle will take place on the night and it would be greatly appreciated if you would supply a prize. The Classic starts off early on Saturday morning, there are still slots available if you would like to enter a team or sponsor a tee box. Great prizes on the day let’s hope the sun shines. Regards John Preston Club Captain Comments are closed.
