Our club President, Seán Ferriter, has two keen interests in life; Donegal GAA and Dunfanaghy Golf Club and on Friday 19th July he will bring them both together at Dunfanaghy Golf Club. Seán, a former Donegal footballer and captain, will host a golf classic at the club to help raise funds for the Donegal GAA Senior Team Training Fund.
Special guests on the day will be former Kerry legend and current Sunday Game Panelist, Tómas Ó’Sé, along with a host of former legendary Donegal footballers. Also joining us on the day will be the main sponsor of the event, Cathal Jackson of Copper Face Jacks. After the four ball competition we will have an evening of entertainment in the clubhouse, where we will have a BBQ followed by the presentation of some exciting prizes to include a four ball sponsored by the prestigious golf courses at Carton House, Co Kildare and the Galway Bay Resort in Oranmore, Co Galway. There will also be an auction along with some raffle prizes on the night. This event is open to both members and non members, so why not come along and enjoy the entertainment in the clubhouse bar that evening where we will have a bit of craic and some GAA banter with our MC Charlie Collins and our special guests. It’s sure to be a great event so please come along and support Seán and Donegal GAA on the day. For further information on the event please contact Joanne Ferriter on 0864079060 or Eddie Boyle on 0856181862. On a very windy Sunday afternoon at Dunfanaghy a young Fred Daly team had a superb 3-2 victory over Rathmore Golf Club. The standard of golf in very tricky conditions was excellent from both sets of boys. Unfortunately the result wasn’t enough to overturn the 4-1 away defeat, but the boys can be proud of how well they played against a significantly more experienced side. Best of luck to Rathmore in the next round.

Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to represent the club. Dunfanaghy qualified 2nd at Portsalon in the Pierce Purcell Qualifying. The Jimmy Bruen team narrowly missed out on qualifying as did the Irish Mixed Foursomes team. The Ulster Cup team lost out to a strong Nairn and Portnoo squad. The Ladies' Junior Cup team have an uphill battle against Rockmount in the home leg at Dunfanaghy next week. We wish them well! Gents Easter Hamper - Stroke (Golfer of the Year)

What an experience for these young guys. They were treated to a great day by our hosts and got to experience how the Royal has been set up ahead of The Open. The golf was good, but the experience is something the boys will remember for a long time. Many thanks to our hosts from Portrush for their hospitality and an amazing day. We look forward to hosting them at Dunfanaghy in 2 weeks.
