Your support by playing on the day, purchasing raffle tickets and very generous raffle and cash donations is so appreciated. Thank you also to everyone who helped behind the scenes to make the event a great success. And off course, thanks to everyone who donned their brightest pinks for the day - some great photos below.

It was a very successful event for a very worthwhile cause. We will post an update of the total raised as soon as we have it.

Friday evening was great fun with a 14-Hole Scramble followed by a quiz hosted by Deirdre & Paddy Farry. Then on Saturday we had a fantastic turnout for the Classic with 39 Teams taking part.

We would like to thank all our sponsors for their support in this event; thanks to everyone who took part, sponsored tee boxes & donated Competition Prizes, donated prizes for the raffles & bought raffle tickets. All Raffle proceeds, which will be around €1100, are in aid of Donegal Hospice. The Classic proceeds, which will be around €6000, are in aid of the Club's Sheephaven Bay Development Project.

Also, a big thankyou to Paul & his team as the course is in fabulous condition, to Yehor & Danielle in the shop, to Lucas & Max in the bar, to the caterers for keeping us well fed over the weekend. And off course big thanks to Mary for all the work she does to make these events a success.

]]><![CDATA[Captains Day 19th/20th July 2025]]>Mon, 21 Jul 2025 09:35:08 GMThttps://www.dunfanaghygolfclub.com/news/captains-day-19th20th-july-2025Captain Anthony Gallagher's week of competitions culminated in the main event on Saturday 19th July. Unfortunately the Heavens opened in the afternoon making the course unplayable & the decision was taken to complete the competition & the Playoff on Sunday. The sun came out on Sunday & the Playoff took place on a beautiful evening on the course.

We had three great nights in the club. On Friday evening the popular Scramble took place followed by burgers in bar. On Saturday evening Captain Anthony & his family invited all members to a wine & cheese reception followed by music by the wonderful Knox Wilson. Finally on Sunday evening we had the Prize Giving for the competitions over the week. Captain Anthony thanked everyone for their support & thanked all the club staff who work in the office, shop, bar & course to make these events a success.

We had a glorious day & have raised a great sum from the competitions & the raffle for a very worthwhile charity - we will publish the number raised as soon as we have the final figures. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with organising, selling raffle tickets & donating prizes for the raffle. Thanks to our greens staff - the course was in wonderful condition.
