Last weekend saw a great result for Dunfanaghy Fred Daly Boys' team against Killymoon.
The boys played some terrific golf to win 5-2 away at Killymoon on Friday night. Special mention to David Daly and Rory Kelly who helped secured 2 vital points away from home.
With plenty of holes to spare, just 2 victories were required to seal the win at home on Sunday. Conor Hanna led the team out brilliantly against the Killymoon No.1, going through the front nine 2 up. This settled the rest of the team and Luke Kelly went through the front nine on level par to be 4 up. Strong play from James Sweeney, Tom McClintock, Carlos O'Reilly, Kyle McGarvey and Rory Kelly saw Dunfanaghy up in all matches at the turn. Conor battled strongly into the wind on the back nine to secure a vital half match, with Luke winning on the 15th. James sealed the overall win on 14, with Tom, Carlos and Kyle all playing great golf in testing conditions to secure comfortable wins. Rory battled well only to be beaten on the 15th.
The final result was 10.5 - 3.5 in favour of Dunfanaghy. The victory sets up an intriguing local derby against Letterkenny, with some of Donegal's finest emerging golfing talent going head to head.
